Style is a discourse concept, and it can only be defined by taking into account extra-linguistic situations, such as going beyond the language system, speech tasks and the field of communication. In order for students to understand the specific features of each functional style, they should be introduced to the extralinguistic foundations of styles, which can be presented in the form of a model of a communication situation.
