Abstract. The purpose of this study is to determine the results of the research on the stepwise application of a set of special exercises aimed at increasing the physical fitness of short-distance runners of the athletics sport and the scientific justification of its practical importance. This article analyzes the effectiveness of increasing the final acceleration due to the development of quick-strength quality and improvement of physical fitness in the annual preparatory training of short-distance runners in the stage of sports improvement.
