INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS FOR CRIMINAL LIABILITY FOR (TRADING IN INFLUENCE) ABUSE OF INFLUENCE

Abstract. The article highlights important aspects of international standards of criminal liability for influence peddling. The author analyzes the existing international norms and conventions, considering their effectiveness and problems of application by national justice systems. The study is based on an analysis of the practice of countries with different legal traditions and cultural contexts. The article identifies the challenges that countries face in trying to align their legislation with international standards, and suggests ways to improve cooperation and coordination in the fight against influence trafficking at the global level.
