Abstract. Autobiographical literature, embodying the authors' sincere stories about their life path, is a unique genre that can immerse readers in the depths of human experience. This article examines the significance of this phenomenon in the context of empathy, understanding, inspiration and social influence. The extremely diverse genre features of autobiographical literature open up a wide range of forms of self-expression for authors. From memoirs, which focus on specific events or periods of life, to autobiographies, which cover the author's entire life, to diaries, which are daily records of thoughts and experiences, these genres offer a variety of ways to tell a story. One of the key functions of autobiographical literature is to evoke empathy in readers. Through the authors' candid accounts of their personal struggles and triumphs, readers find reflections of their own experiences and experiences, fostering a deep understanding of human nature and motivation. Moreover, autobiographical literature has the potential to inspire readers to action and change. Stories of successful coping and self-discovery can be a source of motivation for people facing similar challenges in their lives, as well as stimulate discussion of important social issues and issues.
