Abstract. This review of current research on the relationship between traumatic brain injury and epilepsy provides an overview of existing data on the possible mechanisms of the development of epileptic seizures after brain injury. Risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and modern approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic epilepsy are considered.
