Abstract. This study investigates the utilization of nano-composite hydrogels for the removal of methyl violet from aqueous solutions, leveraging a Fenton-like reaction mechanism. The nano-composite hydrogel demonstrated exceptional efficiency in dye removal, attributed to the synergistic effects of the hydrogel matrix and the catalytic activity of embedded nano-particles. This process generates hydroxyl radicals under mild conditions, leading to the effective breakdown of various industrial dyes. The kinetics of dye removal, the reusability of the nano-composite, and the influence of operational parameters such as different amounts of nano-composite, pH, , temperature, and dye concentration were systematically explored. The findings underscore the potential of nano-composite hydrogel as a promising, environmentally friendly solution for wastewater treatment and dye removal.
